I bought a domain and a hosted wordpress site to create this site!

I’m familiar with GoDaddy for work so I bought the domain through them. I got a 5yr deal for $45, not bad. Then I looked into hosting, GoDaddy was like $8.99 a month, there has to be a cheaper plan. I ended up finding HostGator and got a hosted WordPress site through them for $96 for 3 years, again not bad. I found a coupon code for both places at retailmenot. Ok. now I had to change the DNS for GoDaddy to point to HostGator I found a YouTube video on how to do this. Good old YouTube! After that I logged in to HostGator and figured out how to build the WordPress site. It wasn’t too bad, again thanks YouTube. Once in WordPress I had to figure out how to build the site, again more YouTube. I found a theme I liked and modified it a bit, it’s made by Fluida and called reservoir. I laid out the theme how I liked, changed the home page, colors, background, etc. Then I began the task of building posts. I went back through my Google Photos and Facebook posts and started making a post for every day I worked on the bus. SO MANY DAYS! I bought this bus in June 2018 and am on revision 2 of the conversion. I’d say I’m 70% done with this revision.

I signed up for Amazon and eBay affiliate programs and started building links for the Parts Purchased page. I went through every single purchase I ever made and listed it there. Unfortunately I don’t have a clear document on what I’ve purchased from Home Depot or Menards because I’ve spent thousands between the 2 as well. My goal is to use the commission on those to fund the future updates to the bus. Currently I sell old computers on eBay to fund my purchases.

I’m really kicking myself for not building this site earlier and really documenting in detail what I’ve been doing. I’m hoping to document in detail what my plans are going forward. I’ve watched so many YouTube videos and most articles on Skoolies.net and absorbed as much info as possible. I’d really love to relay that info here. I’d say my build style is cheap ish and lazy ish while still looking good in the end.
