I fixed the AC Lineset. The Ac unit came with a 11ft lineset, but I purchased a new 25′ line set instead. So what I was able to do is cut the bad section out, flare the line and use a brass coupler to join the 11ft line to what remained of the 25′ line. I then hooked up the new vacuum gauge set and drew a vacuum on the lines for 24hrs and no drop in suction. I didn’t want to pay someone to pressure test the lines so I used a MityVac to build a few PSI in the line and tested my connections, no leaks. I crossed my fingers, release the freon into the lines and rechecked all connections with leak detection fluid. NO LEAKS! Now the big test! Went inside and hit the power button. I could hear the compressor kick in but it was so quiet I thought for sure it was bad. But lo and behold, the indoor unit fired up and seconds later Cold air!
