Got quite a bit done this weekend. I cut in the latches for the drawers. That was stupid hard to get right. I only messed up on one drawer. I originally glued in a piece of wood thinking that i’d need to set these back a bit but I didn’t take into account that they are made for the exact thickness of the cabinet door. So I fired up the router and routed the chunk of wood out a a bit. The metal tabs and screws were pretty weak, I broke off several screws even after pre-drilling the holes. The latches look amazing but they took 8 hours to install 8 of them.
I also added more structure into the shower area to glue in the panels. Then I drilled holes for the plumbing in the tile board. I built the box around the water tank a bit. Still not sure what I’m going to do over this area. I’m thinking a box built in with a lid and maybe some kinda shelving unit that can hold those fabric cubes so the kids can use them as dressers.
I also went to screw the sink down and realized that there is supposed to be a lower area below the screw holes. So I glued in some cutoffs back around where the screws go in and let sit overnight. Then I drilled holes and fastened the sink down.
I also tested out the welder a bit. It works pretty darn well. After some more practice I think it’ll be on to the black tank frame.
Looks great but holy cow these were a pain I should have not glued in the extra wood, lesson learned catch tabs, just need to bend these back and forth a bit to catch better and keep the drawer tight Framing around the tank Shower handle cut in Toilet Hookup, rough cut Added some more horizontal backing Finished the door for the electrical closet Wood chunks for fastening down the sink Tested out the welder. Not too bad for not welding for 20 plus years. I still need lots of practice. You can see the black tank frame in the background
